5-day bike package on scenic Ätradalsleden
SE
Open landscapes, mile-long forests and lovely lakes; Ätradalsleden runs between Falköping and Falkenberg and is Sweden's fifth national cycle route. The trail is a total of 20 miles long, of which about half is on a completely car-free trail. The rest are small country roads that wind through a beautiful and varied landscape.
We offer a bike package of 5 cycling days starting in Falköping and ending in Falkenberg. With accommodation in hotels, hostels and B&Bs, breakfast, dinner and luggage transfers. The daily stages are between 36 and 48 km.
Why not come to Falköping a day before you start the bike ride towards Falkenberg? Here you can discover small winding roads, cozy cafes and restaurants with local produce, nice shops, plateau mountains and an exciting history. There are good hostels and hotels here, we can help with booking if you want to. You can easily get here by train, bus or car.
After cycling along the river Ätran, you will reach where it flows into the sea in central Falkenberg. Take the opportunity to experience the city by the sea. Be inspired by all that Falkenberg has to offer and set out on a journey of discovery. Here, in addition to salty baths and sandy beaches, you can also experience really good food, ranging from farm shops to award-winning restaurants and cafes.

Day 1 Falköping — Ulricehamn
48 km From Stone Age Village and Plateau Mountains to a Cozy Small Town by the Lake The stage runs on an old embankment and is almost car-free. You travel through rural communities and in a beautiful natural and cultural landscape. Points of interest: Luttra gånggrift (passage grave) 5500 years old, Ekehagens prehistoric village, Basta Kvarn - cafe with homemade ice cream, miniature village, and sunken lanes. And why not take a swim in lake Åsunden? Accommodations for the night is booked for you at Hotell Nyboholm and dinner is served at Restaurang Bryggan right down at the shore of lake Åsunden Day 2 Ulricehamn -- Tranemo
36 km Cozy cafes, a glass museum, and lots of antique stores Following a nice breakfast, you will continue south on the paved embankment alongside lake Åsunden towards Tranemo. The stretch of the day will take you through a varied landscape of lakes, green hills and forests that go on for miles (the Swedish mile, of course). Along the way you can find historic sites, museums, restaurants and beautiful resting places. Points of interest: Café Sjöparken, with their homemade ice cream, in Vegby, Glasets hus (The house of glass) in Limmared, antique and retro stores, and several lakes perfect for a swim. Tonight you are staying at Sångbergs Hotell in Tranemo where they will also serve your dinner. Day 3 Tranemo -- Calf
43 km A tour along lakes and streams in historic borderlands After breakfast you start the day's ride on the embankment down to Ambjörnarp. South of this the trail runs along beautifully winding country roads with little traffic in a varied landscape with many lakes and streams. Points of interest: A swedish fika at Café Parksäter, Stone circles and iron age gravesites, the iron age grave field of Kammeludden located in beautiful beech forest, swimming in lake Skäremosjön. At Kalvsjön, make a detour to the village of Kalv where you will stay tonight at Kalv's school house, which has been converted into a hostel. Dinner and breakfast is also served here. Day 4 Calf -- Gällared
38 km A magical day in beautiful surroundings of Fegen nature reserve You start the day by going back to the bicycle trail. Before long you will leave the geographical area of Sjuhärad and continue down towards the province of Halland and you will do so on small country roads. In Fegen nature reserve you can experience the silence of true wilderness and in Fegen village you get a fantastic view of lake Fegensjön. Points of interest: beautiful surroundings, Fegen nature reserve, swimming in lake Fegensjön. When you are past Fegen you will leave the trail again to find the village of Gällared and the hostel Alkoven. Dinner and breakfast is served here. Day 5 Gällared — Falkenberg
41 km Experience “the most beautiful road in Halland” The last day of your trip begins with finding your way back to the trail and the bridge over river Ätran. The road between Gällared and Askome has been dubbed “the most beautiful road in Halland”. As the landscape opens up at Askome, the trip continues on small country roads through the countryside and to the city of Falkenberg, where the trail ends at the train station. Points of interest: Yngeredsforsen (the rapids of Yngered) with Döda fallet (the dead fall), Cafe and restaurant Vinbergs golf club, swimming in the ocean in Falkenberg.
